Integrated Support Services for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
Supported Living is a DC DDS funded program that provides individualized, Periodic to 24‑hour support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community‑based residential setting. Services focus on promoting independence, safety, and meaningful daily engagement. Direct Support Professionals assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication administration, community integration, household management, and personal goal achievement. Staff implement person‑centered plans, follow Behavior Support Plans when applicable, and ensure the home environment meets HCBS Settings Rule requirements. Transportation is provided when included in the authorized service.
In‑Home Support is DC DDS funded program that provides habilitative assistance to individuals living in their own homes or with family. Services are designed to increase independence in daily living, enhance community participation, and support health and safety. Staff provide skill‑building in areas such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, personal hygiene, medication reminders, and community access. All supports are delivered according to the Individual Support Plan (ISP), with documentation completed for every shift in compliance with DDS standards.
Respite Services (Daily and Hourly)
Respite Services is a DC DDS funded program that provides temporary relief to primary caregivers by offering short‑term support to individuals in their home or an approved community setting. Respite staff ensure safety, supervision, and engagement in meaningful activities while caregivers rest or attend to personal responsibilities. Services may include assistance with ADLs, community outings, and recreational activities. Documentation reflects the individual’s participation, health, and safety during the respite period.
Companion Services is DC DDS funded Program that offers non‑medical support, supervision, and social engagement to individuals who require assistance to remain safely in their home and community. Companions assist with household tasks, meal preparation, community outings, and recreational activities. The service emphasizes companionship, emotional support, and the promotion of independence. Staff ensure individuals are engaged in meaningful activities aligned with their preferences and ISP outcomes.
Individualized Day Support services is a DC DDS funded program that offers essential community habilitation to enhance a person's integration and promote independence through skill development. Focused on tailored goals and preferences, these activities encourage socialization, education, and recreation in community settings. Designed for those seeking structured engagement, transitioning to retirement, or exploring volunteer opportunities, Individualized Day Supports can be delivered on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, with a maximum ratio of 1:2, ensuring personalized attention based on assessed needs. One-to-one services are accessible through the Participant-Directed Services model for participants in the My Life, My Way program, allowing them to manage their support workers directly.
Behavior Supports (Professional and Non-Professional
Behavioral Support Services provide assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing support to individuals with behavioral, emotional, or adaptive challenges. Professional services include functional assessments, development of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), staff training, and data review. Non‑professional services focus on implementing BSP strategies, collecting data, and supporting individuals in developing coping skills and adaptive behaviors. All services follow DDS behavioral standards and emphasize trauma‑informed, person‑centered practices.
